Brockport's Total Solar Eclipse Campaign
Our first campaign, 'Total Eclipse of the Port,' invited students to celebrate the rare experience of a total solar eclipse right here in Brockport, directly in the path of totality. Through engaging content and campus-wide buzz, we raised awareness and excitement for this once-in-a-lifetime event, bringing students together to share in the wonder of the eclipse

Our campaign, “Total Eclipse of the Port,” began with a unique challenge: how to build excitement and awareness around an event as rare as a total solar eclipse—especially one that placed SUNY Brockport right in the line of totality. We were tasked with creating a dynamic social media campaign that would captivate both students and the broader Brockport community, emphasizing the “once-in-a-lifetime” nature of the event.
Over two months, we built and shared a variety of Instagram content, posting three times a week to keep the momentum strong and the campus engaged. Through a mix of creative Reels, eye-catching posts, and interactive stories, we aimed to spark curiosity, educate our audience on the eclipse’s significance, and encourage everyone to be part of this memorable experience.
The results exceeded our expectations! our campaign generated 12,500 impressions, over 1,000 views, and brought in 175 new followers, building significant buzz across campus. As the first official campaign for Brockport Brand Builders, “Total Eclipse of the Port” taught us invaluable lessons in audience engagement, content creation, and the impact of strategic marketing—laying the foundation for our student-led agency's future success.
